Government-backed ONDC Targets 200,000 Daily Transactions on its E-Commerce Platform

The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), a government-backed e-commerce platform, is targeting 200,000 daily transactions by the end of this year. The platform, which was launched in April 2022, currently has over 100,000 sellers and 200,000 products listed.

ONDC is a non-discriminatory platform that allows sellers to list their products on any participating e-commerce app. The platform is designed to promote competition and transparency in the e-commerce market.

“We are confident that ONDC will achieve its target of 200,000 daily transactions by the end of this year,” said Pramod Kumar, CEO of ONDC. “We have already seen strong demand for the platform from sellers and buyers.”

ONDC is backed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the National e-Commerce Committee. The platform is expected to disrupt the current e-commerce market, which is dominated by a few large players.

“ONDC will level the playing field for all players in the e-commerce market,” said Kumar. “It will give small and medium-sized businesses a chance to compete with the large players.”

The success of ONDC will depend on the participation of sellers and buyers. If the platform is able to attract a large number of sellers and buyers, it will be able to achieve its target of 200,000 daily transactions.
