ISRO Successfully Launches Chandrayaan-3, India’s Third Lunar Mission

Sriharikota, India – July 13, 2023 – The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched Chandrayaan-3, India’s third lunar mission, on Thursday, July 13, 2023. The launch took place at 2:43 p.m. IST from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission is a follow-up to the Chandrayaan-1 and Chandrayaan-2 missions. The mission will carry a lander, a rover, and a payload of scientific instruments. The lander will attempt to soft-land on the lunar surface near the South Pole. The rover will then deploy from the lander and explore the lunar surface.
